Solico’s most recent project, an impressive bicycle bridge over the N207 and the Aarkanaal in Alphen aan den Rijn is currently being built. This bridge, stretching over 150 meters in length, is set to become a vital link for cyclists in the region.
Together with Composite Structures, Solico is conducting calculation verifications on the composite bridge. The length and curvature of this project, combined with its narrow base add to its complexity - the structure is 150 meters long and is made up of five separate pieces that come together to form a seamless, slightly curved bridge.
Besides doing the structural design and calculations, Solico also conducted material testing to ensure that the predicted material values actually match the produced material strength.
