A design was provided, ready for submission towards Lloyds Register, to obtain Plan Approval according to the Rules for Special Service Craft. In order to do so, the RIB is designed to withstand loads of 9G.
There is also a “race” version, where specific aspects were lightened further, minimising weight even more. However, this version is not suitable for obtain Class approval
Lightweight
The use of carbon allowed a weight saving of nearly 20%, compared to GRP. This obviously results in faster acceleration, higher top speed and lower fuel consumption.
High stiffness
The carbon fibre structure is substantially stiffer than a GRP structure.
